When you decide to go rainbow coloured the whole world becomes your hair-colour palette. So recently I have found myself, whilst out running during half marathon training, becoming the girl stalking people's gardens! Staring over fences at flower combos and thinking, 'ooo green and orange that works', or 'I like that blue and red together'! But eventually my favourite colours won through and regardless of what my neighbours flowers were, red, pink and purple were ordered!
This sight upon arrival at the hairdressers however, is not for the faint hearted, no matter how much they are your favourites!
Another thing not for the faint hearted...total bleach out of your entire hair when it's thick and long, accompanied with the comment 'Jane will be fine, if it all falls out she'll be OK having it cut really short..won't you!' Also for those of you not in the know, can I just add that bleach on your scalp feels like the worst case of head lice in living history....ooooo the desire to scratch! But of course all is worth it when you look this wonderful in a public space.
And so the hair was eventually all bleached out and bring on the colour...first purple.
Think that's extreme...wait for the red!
And if that didn't make you want to run..how about adding in some pink?
Yes I am that woman, who, in a salon full of blondes and brunettes was sitting in a chair looking like this!
The final result had me rushing to the mirror with camera in hand when I arrived home, followed by my impressed hubby with a really genuine smile that surprisingly hasn't gone some 3 days on!
And though I am not a gal who gets into the self-portrait thing in a big way, with hair like this it seems wrong not to record the vision of my 'hair-art' for future days! Are you ready....
So there you have it, my day of cracking neon eggs to go rainbow!
And why?
Well you see I lost my heart and now I am the girl with rainbow hair...
sitting in a room with a camera...
with a huge chunk of my heart elsewhere...

It's Forget-Me-Not Friday and time to link up any posts you have about the wonderful children at Reece's Rainbow. Try to visit as many links as you can and leave some comment love...we all need support in this warrior family!

.................................................................................................................................................................

Here is the Forget-Me-Not Friday gallery, a tiny portion of all the beautiful, extra-special children on Reece's Rainbow, each one desperate for a family to love them and save them from the terrible fate of transfer at around 4-5 years old into an adult mental institution, where many children will remain cot-bound forever!
Do please link-up your posts about these children of our hearts. Link up as many times as you like and remember grab the button for your blog to help these children find their forever families!
Click on their name links to visit their individual Reece's Rainbow profile page to find out more or to donate. By donating into a child's adoption fund you help an adoptive family raise the huge ransom it takes to save these children...currently $25,000- $50,000! These children really are on the 'frontline' of need, they need us to help, to sacrifice for them and to care!
.
You do not need to adopt to help. Become a prayer or fundraising warrior for a child, re-post their faces or add my Forget-Me-Not Friday button to your blog and join in the link up. If you are a warrior already then please come and link here weekly on Fridays, let me know beforehand so I can add your child's face to the gallery. Link any post or write using an ongoing writing prompt of 'Forgotten'.
Or perhaps you could adopt? Perhaps you could be blessed by opening up your heart to one of these children? Is your child here?
I am thrilled to be linking up every Friday with 4 awesome ladies who also have big hearts for these children. Go visit Mandy over at, 'Our Adoption Story'. And then visit the amazing Andrea at 'Taking God's Love To The Ends Of The Earth'. and then go give some blogworld love to Julia over at Micah Six Eight. Finally go visit Sarah at 'What it Means To Love'.
(linky will be added later today and will remain open for a week....please come back and link your posts!)

Wow! You have some amazing dedication! I hope your fundraising efforts meet with great success and that many people learn of and fall in love with the children on Reece's Rainbow and orphanage 50 as a result of your dedication and hard work!
ReplyDeleteOne other thing (unfortunately bad news), I understand that Bethany and Marcia are not listed with RR at this time because there is not an agency to work with their region. I hope this will change so they can find families - they sure deserve it!
Oops, one more thing. Reed has gone to the priests orphanage so he's no longer available for adoption internationally. (You don't have to publish this comment or the previous one unless you want to - just letting you know what I learned on RR facbook page.)
ReplyDeleteOh Jane. I love you!!!!! I think you are fabulous, your hair is fabulous, I love all of it. Seriously. Thank you so much for screaming your guts out for the kids. You are faith in action and it is truly an inspiration!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, mama! Did we reach our goal? Am I supposed to dye my hair purple now :)
