It was mid-week and I had just attended an OT appointment for Tilly at her school! It was time to leave but as I walked to my car, police, people carrying signs and many many union jacks appeared...what on earth was going on?
The school opposite Tilly's began to empty... hundreds of kids poured onto this sleepy back street of Evesham, which was now closed! I was going nowhere! I was curious!
And then to my excitement Tilly's school began to stream out and just like that there was Tilly with her class. She was beyond excited to see me, Busby and her Aunty Squeezy! She ran full-pelt down the path into my arms, her face full of smiles!
It would seem that the Olympic torch was about to go past! I had stumbled, completely by chance, across its path...how many times does that happen!
We waited with baited breath and then cheering higher up the rd heralded its arrival!
It travelled past flanked by friends of the local runner and an enormous limousine with blackened windows bringing up the rear!
It was so exciting, like suddenly being face to face with a celebrity with no warning! It felt like the day I bumped into Dawn French coming out of a London shop...I tried to speak but ended up squeaking at her!
In a blaze of red white and blue there it was and then in a blur it was gone. Tilly grinned at me, Busby just wanted his lollipop and a cuddle and I stood amazed. I had stumbled into the Olympic torch with my kiddies and we had become a tiny part of its history for a split second! What a super-cool surprise within this ordinary mid-week moment of a busy Mummy!

How cool? Did you make any of the Jubilee celebrations? Jason and Aidan just missed it as they came back to the states last weekend.
