The sun has begun to shine, it's fighting for space with rain and freak snow, but it's there. An old much missed friend, warming the ground, our souls and our lives. The garden, so cold and muddy in previous months, now calls our name, as doors are opened and fresh air sweeps in. I love Spring!
And the trampoline back in use heralds its arrival with a fanfare of screaming laughter. Little legs running, little bodies bouncing, little faces flushed, huge smiles bewitching the hearts of onlooking adults. Spring is sprung and we are all so glad.
The change of season brings fresh problems to entertain my Mummy's heart, like how to get a shot of all three kiddies in the air at the same time? Perhaps this isn't possible, perhaps some strange law of physics could explain why? Perhaps I would know if only I hadn't switched off in every single science lesson at school, gazing out of the window at the art block, wishing I was there instead!
see all three in the air together not possible!
The change of season also brings heart melting smiles at the joy of outside play. Busby Bill, how have you got so big so fast? Your baby days behind you as the little boy before me grins.
Tilly, your silly faces and dances that make me laugh so much, now wrapped up in six years of life! The new season seems to bring louder clock ticking as this childhood of yours spins past before my astounded eyes.
And my beautiful Poppy, your gorgeous face and wild antics now softened with a deep love, well beyond your years, for your siblings. We melt at your soul's young awareness that you are the little Mama in the family. Looking out, protecting and caring for both your younger and older sibling. I thank God for the heart he gave you, big enough for this role and so much more!
Time zooms by and another Spring with you all starts, but you are all still young enough to delight in being captured by the trampoline monster. That laughter brought about by tickles, a music that I know will not play forever, so I soak it up, every second of it.
I watch in delight as a new season brings new games. Fruit salad...daddy-strawberry running and teaching Busby-banana how to stand and wait for his turn.
Poppy-pineapple has her turn.
The fruit salad run...all in!
I watched Tilly's delight at trampoline flying and considered how far we all have come accepting a life with SMS and loving every moment.
Yes Spring has definitely sprung, trampoline cuddles prove it!
As my family bounce with the sun on their backs, I could never be more grateful for our journey through the seasons together. Laughter, love, delight, heartache, shock, acceptance and strength all combining to bring us here, together, at the start of another Spring!
So this Spring I realise, I am eternally thankful, even when life and its bouncing does get a little more extreme than expected sometimes.
