Forget-Me-Not Friday Part 2: The Christmas Giveaway is Back! ART FOR HEARTS!

So what on earth has happened to the Christmas art giveaway? I had to postpone the giveaway, as Ryan's donate button went down and nobody could take part! Up until that point we had raised $225 with 6 entrants but with most of the giveaway days being inaccessible to participants due to unforeseen circumstances, i felt i had no choice but to postpone everything!

So what happened?

Through no fault of their own and on advice, Ryan's lovely family had to make their blog private for a while. This meant that unfortunately their donate button was unable to accept on line donations. Hence a speedy pause to the Christmas giveaway! To all of you hoping for a Christmas day draw I apologise but I am sure you all understand. I send love to Ryan's family who have had a bumpy few weeks and with joy i can announce that their blog is now up again and the donate link is working. YAY!

And so with no more delay I am re-opening Ryan's giveaway!

The new draw date is Valentines day...and i am re-naming the giveaway after my Etsy shop that I am currently opening to sell my art and craft work with 100% of money going to Reece's Rainbow... it's now the 'Art for Hearts' giveaway. Give some true love for this Valentines day, please take part.

The Prize
Original Artwork Worth approx $250 (although I have already had 2 offers for more money to sell it here in the UK...it seems a very popular piece!)
Becoming Butterflies.
Embroidery, oils and mixed media on canvas.
Size: 10"x 24"approx

This piece holds within it themes of transformation, freedom and beauty and is inspired by the truly wondrous children of Reece's Rainbow.

It is a piece that contains the light and dark of our current world, a world in which special children are abandoned to be transferred into mental institutions at about 5 years of age to remain forgotten and unloved. The base of this artwork represents this loveless world, tiny egg like circles, little lost sparks of life, lie alone amongst this gloom. It's a hopeless world shrouded in darkness...

but then through the rain clouds appears the rainbow, the story is not finished yet..

Within the faint light of the rainbow, magic lives, sending light into the darkness and finding a way for love and protection to journey. It would seem these sparks of life are not forgotten after all!

The rainbow becomes an escape route to freedom for the forgotten and as they escape they transform into butterflies...colourful and so very beautiful. This world would be so much sadder without this beauty!

As the rainbow explodes with colour, protective squares fill the voids and love celebrates yet another victory... and in the light of this new world the butterflies dance!
You could win this piece for as little as $5...all money will help beautiful Ryan to escape and dance. He is currently transferred into an adult mental institution whilst his mama and papa walk the rainbow to save him from his nightmare! Then donate even $1 to Bobby for an extra chance and help save this boy who has been waiting for his family for so long!
They need your help...it costs more than people have to do this amazing act of love!
Help by taking part, 100% of all money raised goes directly to Ryan's and Bobby's adoption funds on Reece's Rainbow.
I can ship the prize anywhere so don't worry about that. x
Ryan and Bobby you are loved xxxxx

Here is the Forget-Me-Not Friday gallery, a tiny portion of all the beautiful, extra-special children on Reece's Rainbow,  each one desperate for a family to love them.

Click on their name link to visit their page on Reece's Rainbow to find out more. These children really are on the 'frontline' of need, they need us to help! You do not need to adopt to help. Become a warrior for a child, or donate to their adoption fund to help a family find the huge amount of money needed for international adoption. Just re post or add my Forget-Me-Not Friday button to your blog. If you are a warrior come and link here weekly on Fridays, let me know beforehand so I can add your  child's face to the gallery. Link any post or write using an ongoing writing prompt of 'Forgotten'. Or perhaps you could adopt? Perhaps you could be blessed by opening up your heart to one of these children? Is your child here?

UPDATE Dec 2011: “Bethany has just passed the course of treatment and the doctor-orthopedist has told that there are wonderful forecasts for Bethany’s walking independently. There is no need for any surgery for Bethany to start walking soon without any help. She needs to get orthopedic footwear and to do exercises routinely in this footwear 3-4 times a day. Bethany is simply gold child: obedient, kind, never whines, very strong desire to study and develop, can already long and with interest to be engaged in doing something. She has one more talent: she sings very well. Bethany will definitely be an honors’ student and pride of family.”
